Nimans’ Dealers Eye SME Market With Launch Of Ericsson’s MD Evolution

Nimans is urging its dealers to target the SME market with Ericsson’s new MD Evolution telephone and data communication system, highlighting that the freshly launched product is “easy to install, easy to use and most importantly, easy to sell.”

The distributor says MD Evolution is aimed at the eight to 200 extension sector and is a modular, future-proof PBX system which means end users can specify functionality according to their current requirements and upgrade only when they need to. This flexibility means they can better manage costs whilst introducing a sophisticated yet easy to use communications system with impressive capabilities.

Key benefits of the basic system package, which costs from £633, include an integrated voice server with free voicemail, customised welcome messages, on-hold music, and two free licences for mobile extension and Unified Messaging users. The wall or rack mounted system is also pre-configured with state of art plug and use programmable flashcards to assist ease of installation.

“Successful SME systems have to be cost effective for a small number of users. The Evolution starts at just eight extensions but can be easily expanded to 200, with its modular design also enabling the cost efficient introduction of additional functionality,” commented Nimans’ Ericsson Business Manager, Paul Emson. “Our primary aim is to introduce a tried and tested system at an entry level on price and features that is acceptable to the reseller and ultimately the end user. Once installed the full potential of the Ericsson system will be realised by the user and the value add-on business by the reseller.”

Among modular capabilities are BackStage which displays customer details on screen, allows conference calls, at-a-click line switching and integration with Microsoft Outlook. Other modules include Mobile Extension which enables mobile workers to benefit from PBX system services such as short number dialling and call-back as well as enhanced functions like Computer Telephone Integration. The system can also exploit VoIP with its IP terminals able to be moved easily around both local and wide area networks to ensure any system additions and alterations can be economically implemented. Other functions encompass ISDN connectivity, mobile and cordless extensions and call centre facilities.

“Because the MD Evolution is built on an ‘open platform’ it is easy to install, easy to use and most importantly for the reseller, easy to sell,” concluded Emson. “We are totally confident that it will make serious inroads into the SME market.”

Nimans conclude by saying that unlike Ericsson’s competitors at this entry level, the Evolution does not have to do system ‘trade offs’ for new versions of equipment, system upgrades, system enhancements or new software releases. The complete system stays with the customer for a business lifetime of ‘no trade off,’ simple cost effective upgrades and enhancements.
