Sentrum Colo and LDeX Partner to Provide Data Centre Redundancy

Sentrum Colo has partnered with LDeX to provide a dual-site, turn-key solution for mission critical servers. This new partnership will enable customers of Sentrum Colo and LDeX to easily achieve data redundancy along with scalability and high availability.

Both data centres offer a turn-key solution of racks, power and a network. Customers are able to simply choose the power and network bandwidth for each site in order to distribute their applications and replicate their data across both data centre facilities. This ability provides redundancy from day one through site-to-site recovery mechanisms. End users have the ability to recover quickly from a site failure by ensuring failover from LDeX to Sentrum Colo and vice versa. Both sites are situated within close proximity to enable robust synchronous mirroring, providing uninterrupted access to mission critical servers.

Graham Monro, Sales Director at Sentrum Colo explained: “Business continuity is crucial in today’s competitive environment. Companies must ensure that when an IT disaster occurs they are able to continue all normal business activities almost immediately after the incident. Redundancy is the first line of defence against any systems failure. Within a data centre it protects against network failure, equipment failure and application failure. As a result, businesses are protected from losses. For this reason we are extremely pleased that we are able to offer our customers full redundancy through this partnership with LDeX.”

Connectivity from both sites is delivered using a range of providers to offer a diversely routed, ultra-low latency 10Gb waves on dedicated fibre. Internet links to the USA and Europe can be routed independently of London to provide an optimum level of resiliency.

“This partnership with Sentrum Colo allows our joint customers to distribute their applications across two sites resulting in a more efficient, cost-effective use of resources. In addition, spreading applications can give end users better response times. Routing end users to a site based on load conditions and the health of the site itself results in scalability and ensures high availability of mission critical servers. We’re proud to be able to offer our customers high performance and redundancy through this strategic partnership,” said Matthew Edgley, Sales and Marketing Director at LDeX.
