Success for The Phone-Co-op in the FCS Green Award

Federation of Communication Services - FCS is pleased to announce The Phone Co-op Ltd as winner of the FCS Green Award for Large Business 2010.

Vivian Woodell, managing director of The Phone Co-op was presented with the award by Martin Giddens, Quality and Environmental Manager of award sponsor Inturn Trading Ltd at the award ceremony on the evening of 17 June.

On receiving the award Vivian said “This is a testament to our efforts to be pioneers in the area of environmental awareness, and in improving our practice, as well as in measuring what we do so that we can improve it further. It underlines how the combined impact of lots of small decisions, on how to travel or to ensure that computers and lights are turned off when they are not being used, can make a big difference.

Vic Clements of Oakmead Consulting Ltd and chairman of the award judging panel commented “The FCS Green awards exist to encourage the communications industry to address environmental issues and to recognise those companies who are making real progress in reducing the adverse environmental impacts of their business processes, products and services.

The ‘Large Business’ award was open to companies with 50+ employees and the standard this year was encouraging with entrants scoring well across all criteria.”

A runner–up award was made to Uniworld Communications Ltd
