Infrastructure and software solutions value added reseller, Trustmarque, announced today it has signed a reseller agreement with Splunk Inc., provider of software for real-time operational intelligence. Trustmarque’s Information Security Group will provide customers with technical deployment, maintenance and support for Splunk’s flagship software for collecting, indexing and harnessing machine data - Splunk Enterprise 4.3 and the Splunk App for Enterprise Security 2.0.
“Splunk’s applications in compliance, networks and data security are very complementary to what we do,” comments Rob Newburn, Head of Information Security and Managed Services, Trustmarque. “Splunk provides disruptive technology, has great pedigree, a loyal user base, and are leaders in the field of operational intelligence. They are also gaining great traction in the market following Splunk’s recent IPO and we see great potential with the software in our customer base.”
“We are pleased to have signed up Trustmarque as a channel partner in the UK,” comments Jason Phelps, Sales Director EMEA for Splunk. “Trustmarque works with a number of highly regulated organisations that have a requirement to process huge volumes of data in real-time - particularly in key vertical markets such as government, retail, finance and telecoms. Trustmarque is very strong in these sectors and will be a great route to market for us.”
Splunk Enterprise 4.3 provides visibility into a broad range of IT events including those that are beyond the scope of traditional security solutions, but are increasingly security-relevant. Its big-data engine enables security professionals to quickly understand unknown threats hidden as patterns in terabytes of normal user-credentialed activities that can signify the presence of advanced malware or a malicious insider.
The Splunk App for Enterprise Security provides out-of-the-box security content that, combined with Splunk Enterprise 4.3, delivers a next-generation security solution for monitoring known threats, support for forensic investigations, big data analytics to help identify advanced persistent threats, and dashboards for security posture and investigation workflows. As a result, most customers achieve a reduction in incident investigation times, not only lowering incident response costs, but also dramatically reducing risk as attack windows are shortened.
Trustmarque will provide technical services, consultancy, training, maintenance and support to its customers looking to deploy Splunk. Through this training and Trustmarque’s expertise in Information Security, the company will help organisations realise the full benefits of Splunk’s technology.
