Utimaco EVP to Spearhead Sales in EMEA

Utimaco, the data security company has appointed Matthew Robinson as its new Executive Vice President EMEA in January. In his new role, he is responsible for sales in the BeNeLux, France, the Nordics, SEEMEA and the UK addressing market, sales and business development issues. Matthew is based in Utimaco’s UK office near London and reports directly to the CEO, Martin Wülfert.

With data breaches continuously hitting the headlines in the UK but also in other EMEA countries, Matthew Robinson sees great opportunities to position Utimaco’s multi-platform, centrally managed data security portfolio. In particular, with the new SafeGuard LeakProofTM , Utimaco’s SafeGuard solutions help organizations protect their data assets against data theft or leakages.

The dramatic data breaches not only threaten the confidential data of companies but also increasingly of a large number of the public. This is creating great concerns and erodes the confidence of the public to entrust their data with companies or government bodies. The new appointment supports Utimaco’s international growth which is in line with its good financial performance. In the first six months of its fiscal year, Utimaco has increased its world-wide revenues by 13% to € 29.5 million.

"I am excited to work for such a well positioned company offering security solutions which can help organizations to prevent data leakages and in particular data breach incidents of such significant numbers and devastation which we have seen particularly in the UK over the past months. It certainly means that data security companies such as Utimaco will be greatly in demand, and I am looking forward to help our potential customers avoid such headlines," said Matthew Robinson, Executive Vice President EMEA.
