Nokia N93

Networks & Network Services
The N93 caused a bit of a stir when it was announced – Carl-Zeiss optical zoom combined with a Vario-Tessar lens? Video capture in VGA resolution at a high frame rate?
That cool twist-and-shoot clamshell design? Now that the phone is shipping, let’s see whether the fuss was justified.
Point one: striving for the ultimate multimedia machine has turned the Nokia N93 into the most uncomfortable phone. It’s huge and heavy. And the real disappointment is that picture and video quality is not so great
At least the spec is good: miniSD slot and 128MB card included, stereo FM radio, loads of connectivity (WiFi, Bluetooth, USB, infrared, TV-out). The keyboard is generally comfortable to use, though it’s a bit awkward to navigate in ‘view’ mode, and the display is excellent.
Yes, it’s a smartphone with exceptional capabilities. But it won’t replace a decent camera or a mainstream camcorder, and it isn’t a great phone. It’s also expensive and cumbersome, and it uses Symbian OS 9.1 S60 3rd Edition UI – which means there’s little third-party software available just yet.
