Steve Cahill Vodafone Trade Sales

What was your first paid employment?
Running a burger bar dressed as an elf while studying at college. The money went towards my first car

How long have you worked for Vodafone Trade Sales?
10 months. I was looking to relocate to Cheshire and just applied for the vacancy

What is the best aspect of your job?

The kudos that comes with working for the largest and best mobile phone network in the UK!

And what is the worst?
Not enough hours in the day

What will you do next? And what’s your ultimate ambition?
No comment Suggest a sales incentive that would work for you. Money, money, money. The best sales incentive I’ve won so far was a trip to Prague with Vodafone’s business excellence awards.

Your home is on fire and you can rescue only one thing. What is it?
My mobile phone, of course. It contains customer details of everyone I have spoken to over the last eight years

What’s the first record or CD you bought? Are you still listening to it? What’s the last music you bought?

Can’t remember

Cats or dogs?

Marmalade or marmite?

What’s your favourite restaurant dish? And what’s your favourite back at home?
Boringly enough, pâté. The Mrs’s homemade chicken and potato curry is the home favourite

Chelsea or not?

If you were a mobile phone, which would you be and why?
Nokia 6310i — still looks good after all these years …

Have a drink – what’s it to be?
Alcohol-free Becks. Gave up drinking when the family arrived!

You’re designing a mobile handset for the future. What functions would it have and why?
I’ll leave that up to the manufacturers

What’s the question you are asked most often in the average working week?
What time will you be home?

Would you watch TV on your mobile? Would you pay for it?
I do, and yes

If you could change anything about the mobile industry and your role in it, what would it be and why?
I wouldn’t charge a thing

Which handset maker would you like to have shares in?
I would prefer to have some in each. I never keep all my eggs in one basket

What keeps you awake at night?
My son!

Who inspires you and why?
My son again, because every day is a new challenge

Who should play you in the movie of your life?
Wayne Rooney. He’s slightly overweight and comes from Liverpool

And finally … What do you think about being nominated DM of the month?
