Amillan provides full unified communications and telephony solution for Yorkshire Housing

Communications solutions integrator Amillan has provided Yorkshire Housing Ltd with a unified communications and IP telephony solution at its new location in Leeds, together with a new cabling and data network infrastructure as part of a wider technology roll-out.

The opening of the ‘Corporate Centre’ in Leeds is a result of Yorkshire Housing Ltd reviewing their office facilities and taking the decision to move 250 staff to the new location. Focus within the organisation is on increasing its customer service levels, whilst boosting staff productivity and efficiency levels. The unified communications solution provides Yorkshire Housing Ltd with advanced presence capabilities - knowing who is available to handle enquiries or to call-out to sites, skills-based routing to transfer calls to the most appropriate person, collaboration, conferencing, and mobility for its workforce meaning that staff are able to be contacted whether in the office, at a satellite location or working remotely.

The voice, data and cabling solution for Yorkshire Housing Ltd’s new office is the first part of a two-phase project. Amillan has installed an Excel Cat6 cabling solution, Aruba wireless network, new LAN switch technology and IPFX’s IP telephony solution with unified communications. Phase two of the project is the roll-out of the IP telephony and unified communications system across Yorkshire Housing Ltd’s five additional office locations and numerous satellite offices across Yorkshire.

The fact that one company has been able to provide all aspects of the solution for Yorkshire Housing Ltd has made the whole installation much more straightforward, combined with its ability to carefully manage not only their own installation but to have provided co-ordination with third parties too. Included in Amillan’s IPFX solution is a full contact centre which features call recording, full reporting, advanced presence capabilities, wallboard monitors, integration into the CRM system and the intelligent ability to stop and start recording when credit card payments are taken – providing PCI DSS compliance, a legal imperative.

Amillan, which has over 25 years’ experience in communications solutions integration, has provided the full solution for Yorkshire Housing Ltd after being successful in a public tender for the project. This project comes close behind Amillan’s successful installation of IPFX for Trent and Dove Housing Association, who selected the solution based on its sophisticated presence features and the potential to boost the association’s productivity.
