Avaya Spaces reveals new features

UCC solutions provider Avaya has today announced new capabilities for its Avaya Spaces platform. Avaya Spaces is a workstream collaboration (WSC) platform that offers unified communications (UC) capabilities via a user’s preferred device. Launched in 2020, the platform now offers AI-enhanced meetings and integrated voice and video calling powered by Avaya OneCloud CPaaS. 

“We designed Avaya Spaces to be an immersive collaboration platform that supports the composable enterprise, enabling organisations to move at the speed of their customers and employees,” said Anthony Bartolo, EVP and chief product officer at Avaya. “Businesses are adapting and scaling faster to meet the needs of the experience economy by shifting from monolithic software to more agile, services-based applications, and Avaya Spaces uniquely enables this leap forward.”

New capabilities announced for the platform include:

  • Enhanced calling to contact anyone inside or outside the organisation via voice and video, with the ability to merge contacts from multiple devices and manage multiple concurrent calls 
  • Seamless workflows, allowing users to leverage APIs and take advantage of off-the-shelf and purpose-built integrations for CRM, customer support and RPA (robotic process automation)
  • AI enhancements for more engaging meetings such as the ability to visually overlay speakers on top of presented material
  • Higher quality audio for calls and video meetings at noisy locations 
  • The option to hold interactive meetings with thousands of participants and a 61-person ‘concert view’
