Azlan Moving into the Next Era

Azlan, the enterprise division of Computer 2000, says it is entering the next phase of its growth strategy.

Over the past 18 months the distributor says Ian French has been a cornerstone of Azlan, driving the development of the enterprise and corporate propositions to deliver complete solutions and value added services. With a wider range of market leading vendors, such as; HP, Cisco, Brocade, Pillar Data, HP Services, Avaya, Emulex, QLogic and AudioCodes, now allied to Azlan the business has been transformed.

Partnering with these market leading vendors Azlan has seen significant growth. This initial phase of investment is now enabling further on-going growth and the next phase will include the development of a value-led strategy and deeper vendor partnerships.

French, who joined Azlan with a remit of building the foundations on which the current management team would continue to grow, will be stepping down from his current role, but will remain engaged as a strategic consultant. He will now be reactivating some significant opportunities for his consultancy company, Siceo Ltd, and driving Gapaid, a charity which he chairs.

“Ian joined us to perform a specific task of achieving a breakthrough with the Azlan business in terms of people calibre, value capability and market positioning. We are delighted with the foundations he has built and look forward to taking Azlan onto its next stage via our continued investment in people and technology. We also have an on-going search for a replacement for Ian to continue our investment in growing the Azlan business,” says Andy Gass, Managing Director of Computer 2000.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my engagement both with Computer 2000 as a board advisor, and Azlan in the UK and Europe, developing next generation enterprise distribution. I now look forward to being a strategic advisor and consultant for Europe’s leading distributor, and am confident that the team I have helped to build and the foundations we have created with partners will enable Azlan to drive to huge success in the future,” says French.

French leaves Azlan in a strong position as a leading enterprise VAD, in converged infrastructure, unified communications and collaboration, network security and enterprise software, all backed by the scale and operational excellence of the UK’s biggest distributor, Computer 2000.
