Belgacom today announces an exclusive agreement with the international music on-demand company Deezer to offer unlimited access to more than 13 million tracks from all kinds of music. Thanks to this agreement Belgacom customers will enjoy at home or on the go the ultimate music experience around the clock as well as Belgacom exclusivities.
Belgacom is the first operator in Belgium to integrate unlimited music subscription to various of its Internet and mobile packs. This perfectly fits with Belgacom’s strategy of convergence aiming at easing the access to high quality entertainment for its customers wherever they are, whatever the device they use. The “Deezer for Belgacom” service will be launched in the weeks to come. Details on the commercial offering will then be disclosed.
Thanks to the exclusive agreement signed with the leading music on-demand company Deezer Belgacom’s interactive entertainment offering is enhanced with an all-you-can-eat music service at home and on the go. Over 13 million music tracks in high quality will be accessible in an unlimited way on PC, Mac, smartphone and tablet wherever the users are even without permanent internet connexion. Belgacom customers will be able to listen to music via streaming or download, create playlists with tracks from Deezer’s catalogue, discover new music, share their tastes with other users and discover Deezer’s editorial recommendations from experts based in Belgium.
Belgacom trusts since a long time in the power of music for delighting its customers: Belgacom sponsors many of the greatest music events in Belgium such as Rock Werchter, I love Techno, Concours Reine Elisabeth and offers exclusive music video content on Belgacom TV via the TV channel Anne and live concerts in streaming or VOD. Thanks to its agreement with Deezer, Belgacom goes one step further being the first operator in Belgium to integrate unlimited music access to several of its Internet and mobile packs.
Recently the French company Deezer started its international roll out in the UK and it will expand its presence in more than 100 countries before the end of the year. Moreover, in September 2011 Facebook announced that it will integrate Deezer on international level into its social network platform.
Bruno Chauvat, Executive Vice-President Strategy & Content at Belgacom: “Music and telecom are the perfect marriage when access to content is unlimited and seamless across networks and devices. Thanks to its smart networks including Internet broadband, 3G and soon FON, Belgacom is the only operator in Belgium able to provide a pervasive access at home and on the go to customers’ favourite entertainment services such as Deezer. Our exclusive agreement with Deezer is one more pillar in our great convergent entertainment offer.”
Axel Dauchez, CEO of Deezer: “Our ambition is to offer the best streaming music solution for the Belgian market like we did in France and England. We would like to offer all Belgian users a unique service that focuses on sharing and discovering new music. We are also very pleased that Belgacom joins us in this adventure.”
