Telecoms experts will appear before the House of Lords Communications Committee today to contribute to the Committee’s inquiry into superfast broadband.
The Committee will question witnesses on issues such as broadband demand & access, infrastructure & service provision, and what, in practice, it would mean for the UK to have the best superfast broadband network in Europe by 2015.
In three separate evidence sessions, the Committee will question:
•Chi Onwurah, Shadow Minister for the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills and former Head of International Technology Strategy for Ofcom
•Andrew Barron, Chief Operating Officer, Virgin Media
•Steve Robertson, former Chief Executive Officer, BT Openreach
The evidence sessions will take place at 3.15, 4.00 and 4.45 respectively on Tuesday 22 May in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords.
