BroadSoft Expands Interoperability Program to include Mobile Smartphones and Tablets

BroadSoft has announced the expansion of its partner interoperability program to include mobile device manufacturers and SIP voice and video clients, which support today’s most popular mobile operating systems. BroadSoft says it successfully integrates with more than 450 technology and business solutions partners today.

The expansion of BroadSoft’s interoperability program, to include mobile device and client partners, demonstrates its dedication to delivering mobile Voice over IP (VoIP) and video solutions for today's smartphones and tablets running over 3G and 4G wireless networks. The addition of mobile capabilities to BroadSoft’s extensive interoperability program will not only validate MMTel and RCS feature sets against BroadSoft's IR.92 Telephony Application Server (TAS), the program will also include some of today’s most popular communication services, such as video, delivered by BroadWorks, BroadSoft's industry leading service delivery platform and BroadCloud, BroadSoft's hosted, cloud service delivery infrastructure. Successful completion of BroadSoft’s partner interoperability program provides mobile network operators (MNOs) with the knowledge that comprehensive testing has been performed between the device and the services in the network.

“We are committed to providing mobile operators with the ability to offer a superior communications experience across an end-user’s preferred device,” said Scott Hoffpauir, chief technology officer, BroadSoft. “We are leveraging our broad interoperability experience, which spans more than a decade, to include the growing variety of mobile smartphones and tablets running today’s most popular operating systems, including Android, iOS, Blackberry, WindowsPhone and Symbian.”

Partners already leveraging BroadSoft’s enhanced interoperability documentation and process include AudioCodes, CounterPath, Ecrio, Movial, and MobileMax.

“Ecrio communication client solutions power some of the most innovative real-time IP communication services and we believe BroadSoft’s interoperability program will further simplify the rollout of next generation communication services,” said Tad Bogdan, chief executive officer, Ecrio. “Ecrio has extensive experience performing interoperability in large scale commercial service deployments and we believe that BroadSoft’s approach to extending their ecosystem to include client software and devices is a winning strategy.”
