C2000 Strengthens Licensing Team

Computer 2000, the UK arm of Tech Data, has appointed Steve Vear to the post of Software Licensing Manager and is planning to make further investments that will underline its commitment to supporting resellers in this key area of the market over the coming year.

Vear was previously Corporate Sales Manager at the company and has been with Computer 2000 for just over seven years, working in customer services and account management roles. In his new position he will be responsible for ensuring that the customer experience is as positive as possible and further developing systems and processes that enable resellers to navigate their way through the wide range of vendor software licensing schemes that are now available through Computer 2000.

“Licensing is a vitally important part of our business today and one in which we already excel, but are determined to improve even more”, says James Reed, General Manager of the Software business unit at Computer 2000. “Steve’s appointment to this pivotal role is a signal of our intent and commitment to delivering the very best levels of customer service and support to all our software licensing customers. His previous experience makes him ideally positioned to help us take our licensing support to the next level.”

With Vear’s appointment, Computer 2000 has also elevated the seniority of the role, making the Software Licensing Manager a key member of the specialist Software business unit management team. The company has already boosted numbers on its specialist Licensing Desk to ensure that resellers can always get help with more complex requirements. It is planning to put further resources in place over the next few months with a view to providing even higher levels of service to resellers.

Commenting on his appointment, Vear states: “Software licensing is one of the most difficult areas of the market for resellers to fully understand and it is vital that we not only make it as easy as possible for them to identify, place and process orders, but also ensure that every customer has the best possible experience that they can when they conduct software licensing business with Computer 2000.”
