David Pollock, Chief Executive of Chess and one of the 27 runners stated “To see so many of our people playing their part helping to support the East Cheshire Hospice was great. We’re proud to have raised over £2,500 for an organisation that makes such a positive difference for people living with life-limiting illnesses.“
The runners were cheered on from the roadside by fellow Chess people and their families. Andrew Green, Head of Performance at Chess and also one of the runners, commented “That we had so many of our people participate is testament to the culture and spirit we have at Chess. We’ve had a huge amount of fun over the last few months preparing for the event and all feel great about helping such an important cause. We’re hoping for an even bigger team next year, training has already started!”
Chess support their people in charitable activity throughout the year, recently including fundraising for the Prince’s Trust, the British Heart Foundation and Christie’s. Later this week two of Chess’ people are cycling the whole length of Great Britain from Cornwall’s Land’s-End to Northern Scotland’s John O’Groats in aid of the Prince’s Trust.
