Structured cabling company, Connectix Cabling Systems, has designed a compact 8u capacity wall mountable cabinet to complement its existing range of networking cabinets.
Designed to be the heart of a small network, the 385 (H) x 275 (W) x 150mm (D) cabinet is the ideal size to hold the core equipment and wiring terminations needed for a state of the art networking system. A Connectix home Satellite, RF TV and FM distribution system can be easily fitted to the cabinet backplate, and a Networx 8 port 10/100Mbps Ethernet switch can be installed horizontally on the space saving bracket. This leaves enough space inside the cabinet for up to eight 1u panels, with the potential for up to 96 ports.
A key issue in the design process was to make cabinet and equipment installation straightforward. This has been achieved by featuring an easy to remove backplate and front door. The backplate is mounted to the wall and the cabinet chassis then slides onto it and is secured by four quick release quarter turn fastners. The cabinet front door sits on retractable hinge pins which allows for easy removal, and thus improves equipment installation and access to inside the cabinet. Cable entry is possible from the top, bottom or through optional case ‘cut-out’ plates.
