Daisy Acquires New Base of 3700 Customers

Daisy Communications has started the year in strong fashion with the acquisition of more customers into its ever-growing base.

The Lancashire-based provider has acquired 3,700 customers from Wiltshire-based 4Com Ltd. And the deal, its 19th to date, sees customer numbers surpass the 32,000 mark and highlights the company’s continuing ambition to consolidate the communications market.

For the last 12 months daisy CEO Matthew Riley has been hot on the acquisition trail and he said the latest deal, worth an estimated £8.4m in annual revenue through the transfer of 4Com’s lines and calls customers, was further evidence of daisy securing a major foothold in the business communications landscape.

“daisy operates in a rapidly changing market where customer experience, product choice and value for money are key, and as a company we are determined to provide the best,” said Matthew Riley.

“Through our proven acquisition model and forthright ambition, we have successfully grown our customer base and given the company a strong foothold for 2009.”

Recent acquisition activity has been assisted no end by last year’s Bank of Scotland victory, with the £5m allocated for daisy to pursue its acquisition strategy.

“The funding and our relationship with the bank has allowed daisy to continue with its acquisitive and entrepreneurial approach,” said Matthew. “This means we can continue to grow customer numbers as well as add value to our business, which is important in what is proving to be a challenging financial market.

“4Com customers will continue to enjoy the same standard of care and provision, and will now be able to take advantage of a service offering from a company that specialises in providing communications to small-medium sized enterprises.”

And 4com’s Managing Director Daron Hutt agreed with the daisy CEO, adding that he would happy to do business with the company again in the future. He said: “There is a great spirit of on going co-operation and future business between the two companies. Everyone at 4com wishes daisy a great 2009.”
