Entagroup Sister Companies Battle For Charity

MSPs
Entagroup sister companies, Entanet and Entatech, battled it out once again at the weekend in the annual Severn Hospice Dragon Boat Race. The group raised over £2,000 in aid of the local, worthy charity.

The event, held at the Pengwern Boat Club in Shrewsbury was another massive success. A number of fiercely competitive local teams battled it out along the stretch of the river to raise money for the charity. After earlier heats, distributor Entatech, dressed as sailors, and wholesale communications provider Entanet, who came as pirates, rallied together their teams of 16 rowers and a drummer and took to the river in friendly rivalry.

The sun shone down brightly on the sister companies as they rowed in anticipation to the race start. As the race began each team burst into action, giving their all not only against each other but against the river flow toward the finish line. With beating drums and chants to maintain rhythm, both dragon boats sliced through the water neck and neck for much of the race. Victory though went to a delighted Entatech team as they finished just a couple of seconds ahead of Entanet, their enthusiasm at winning so great that their boat rocked and the drummer fell into the water to the sound of cheers and laughter.

Commenting on the event, Entanet’s Head of Marketing Darren Farnden said: “Both companies have had an excellent day out as always in support of the Severn Hospice. It’s an excellent way to raise money for such a worthy local charity as well as offering both Entanet and Entatech teams a great opportunity to compete against each other.”
