Invosys Get Behind PDSA Charity

MSPs
Invosys is supporting animal organisation, the PDSA, as their chosen charity for the next year.

The Manchester-based firm recently completed a successful years fundraising for Myeloma UK and have now pledged to raise vital funds for another worthy cause.

The PDSA are a vet charity, which aims to treat the pets of people experiencing economic and social hardship. Every year, the dedicated teams at over 51 Pet Hospitals and 380 plus Pet Practices work tirelessly to provide 2.7 million veterinary treatments – including 440,000 preventative treatments. This helps over 470,000 much-loved by educating owners, preventing disease and carrying out life-saving operations.

Invosys have chosen to support PDSA after a recent “furbaby” boom at the company, with several members of staff becoming dog owners for the first time.

The team have committed to raise money for the charity by taking on a number of challenges throughout the year, pushing staff to their physical and mental limits. Many hours have already been spent in gyms, pools, open water and out on the road to prepare for events including Ironman UK in Bolton (which is 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle and 26.2 mile run, all in under 17 hours), London Marathon, Berlin Marathon and great Manchester 10K run. The less sporty staff are doing their bit and taking part in a monthly – and highly competitive – Great Invosys Bake Off, to raise additional funds.

Dan Fish, HR Director for Invosys has been co-ordinating the charity efforts. He said:

“It’s a key part of our ethos at Invosys to give something back to the wider community and so we pledge to support a charity each year, with staff dedicating their own time to raise funds. PDSA seemed really fitting for 2017, with many of the team being such big animal lovers.

“Over the past few months, three of us have given homes to puppies and we have all noticed the hugely positive effect that being a pet owner can have on your life. They become part of the family, give unconditional love and are often a person’s only companion. The PDSA is a fantastic charity which helps people and pets stay together, even when they are facing financial difficulties.”
