New Appointments at Mobile Tech Data

Tech Data Mobile has made three key appointments. Gareth Lewis has been appointed Sales General Manager for Network Operators, while Andy Smith and Jeni Patrick are both rejoining the company – the former as General Manager Key Accounts, the latter as Marketing Director.

Gareth Lewis has over 15 years experience in the mobile and IT industries, the majority of which he spent at Motorola and HP, where he built and managed successful account teams and business relationships with many of the major network operators and telco channels. Most recently, he has been working in business development projects for a number of companies, including Fujitsu, Microsoft and O2 Telefonica.

Andy Smith re-joins Tech Data Mobile following a successful two-year period spent within the IT hardware refurbishment/recycling sector. He previously spent one year in the role of IT Channel Director within the business and brings vast experience in the telecommunication and mobile industries, gained during spells at BT, 20:20 Mobile, WDS Global and Novatel Wireless, to Tech Data Mobile.

Both have already taken up their new roles, while Jeni Patrick will rejoin the company at the beginning of February. She returns to Tech Data after an absence of just over three years. She spent 14 months within the Microsoft partner marketing team and for the last two years has been head of mobile programmes at Exertis Micro-P. She previously spent more than seven years in various marketing roles within Tech Data, including a ten-month period in which she was head of UK marketing for the company’s then joint-venture in the mobile sector.

Stephen Nolan, Managing Director of Tech Data Mobile, stated: “These appointments are part of the wider investment we are making to take Tech Data Mobile to the next phase of its development in the UK. We are committed to delivering the very best service and account management to key customers and to driving excellence in our marketing. Gareth, Andy and Jeni bring with them a wealth of skill and experience. They will play pivotal roles in helping us to expand and develop our relationships with network operators and with major accounts in the retail, e-commerce and grocery channels and in continuing to build and enhance our reputation as a market-leading mobile distributor.”
