Ontology wins prestigious Pipeline Innovation Award

Powerful semantic search technology recognized as major advance for communications industry

Today, at TM Forum’s Management World, Ontology Systems, the semantic-search provider for enterprise data alignment, announced their state-of-the-art semantic search technology, Ontology 3, last night took the inaugural Pipeline Innovation Award for technical innovations.

Over 70 companies were originally nominated this year, and Ontology was amongst a select group of finalists shortlisted and presented to Pipeline’s exclusive industry judging panel for final voting. The 2012 Innovation Award judging panel itself is an esteemed consortium comprised of key executives from leading service providers around the world such as AT&T, BT, Cox, Intelsat, TELUS, Turkcell, and Yota, as well as influential industry analysts. The panel based their decision on a wide range of criteria including Pipeline’s independent research.

The technical innovations category, in which Ontology emerged as the winner and included some of the smartest and most recent technical advancements in the industry, recognises the most innovative new product, release, or feature in use in communications technology.

Benedict Enweani, CEO and founder of Ontology Systems, commented: “We are delighted to win this award and gain recognition from our industry peers. We have seen a dramatic uptake in our semantic search technology over the past two years, and this is some part due to the way we have caused CSPs to rethink the way they find and align their customer, equipment and service information.”

Enweani continued: “It is widely accepted across the industry that CSPs spend vast sums of money attempting to do this via integration and getting usable results across misaligned heterogeneous systems is hard. Our state-of-the-art semantic search technologies has helped our customer to quickly find and align their business and operational data to provide a single, accurate, enterprise-wide view of customers, services and network assets.”

Today, Ontology Systems also announced Ontology Intelligent 360, a suite of apps that deliver enterprise views, dashboards and fully featured operational solutions – which is based on the ‘award winning’ Ontology 3 semantic search technology.
