PBX Hosting introduces Microsoft Teams direct routing service

PBX Hosting has launched a Microsoft Teams direct routing service. The company said that the service enables it to take a business’ existing phone system and migrate it to Microsoft Teams; users can then make and receive external calls on any device using Teams, without needing to switch between platforms.

Stuart Gibson, founder of PBX Hosting, explained, “Although video conferencing platforms such as Teams are excellent tools for staff to keep in touch with co-workers, they are not specifically designed for external use. This is where direct routing comes in. In order to allow businesses to remain in contact with customers and suppliers, we connect Teams and Office 365 to their traditional phone system to enable their staff to work as efficiently as they would do in the office.

“Through the use of Teams Direct Routing we are able to make businesses feel like they are working at the office, whilst at home and it allows their customers, suppliers and prospects to call directly in Teams from their own device – whether that be phone or mobile – and likewise you are able to call them directly from Teams. Essentially, it perfectly combines the flexibility and efficiency of Microsoft Teams with the robust calling features of a traditional phone system.”

The solution from PBX Hosting includes fully managed session border controllers for multiple tenants and monitors Teams Services, SIP trunks and number routing.

Gibson added, “Direct routing when integrated with Teams can prove to be extremely cost-effective for businesses. Implementing direct routing can result in significant savings in outbound calls for your business of and provide business with a higher return on investment through its cost efficiency.”
