Plantronics Expands Headset Line

Business processes and communications are set for a significant change with advancements like wearable tech, sensors and contextual intelligence entering the workplace. Plantronics continues to commit to innovation, creating state-of-the-art headsets with Smart Sensor technology that are technologically advanced and rise above the noise in any business environment.

A recent Plantronics survey found that only 36% of office workers feel they have the right tools and knowledge to for flexible working and only 63% have received specialist training on how to work flexibly.

The new versatile Blackwire 500 Series corded USB headset incorporates Smart Sensor technology enabling users to automatically connect to PC softphones like Lync or Skype. Answering a call becomes as easy as putting the headset on– no extra buttons to be pushed or steps to be taken.

“Today’s office walls are being torn down, paving the way for mobile working and open office floor plans. IT departments need solutions for this new way of work and an intelligent endpoint to complete the UC system roll out,” said Philip Vanhoutte, senior vice president and managing director for Plantronics in Europe & Africa. “Expanding our headset offerings and incorporating Smart Sensor technology in the new Blackwire 500 headset provides an intuitive high-quality audio experience to those on PC calls. With each addition to our Smart Sensor line-up we are improving productivity and simplifying communication at the office.”

The Voyager Legend UC and Blackwire 700 Series headsets incorporate contextual intelligence technology to another degree, providing professionals with a high level of presence accuracy, flexibility and professionalism when on a conference call or moving about the office. The Smart Sensor technology detects when the headset is being worn and automatically routes the audio – both for calls and media like iTunes or Spotify – from the mobile phone or PC to the headset whenever it is put on.
