Retell Advances on Regulatory Compliance

Retell. the UK call recording manufacturer. has released an upgrade for its Advanced single desk recording software (model 957ADV) giving users the ability to pause a recording whilst emitting audio into the call. This feature will benefit smaller companies with a low number of users taking credit card details or even larger organisations that can’t afford expensive upgrades on their existing recording system.

The Advanced call recording software has been available for eight years and at a cost of £249.99 ex VAT Retell claims offers customers an ideal first step into call recording with the ability to expand at a low cost. The Advanced software uses a unique and patented universal connection between any type of handset and a PC and stores calls in an encrypted and compressed format. Resellers can order a full working demonstrator for only £60 from their trusted distributor on a one per dealership basis.

A spokesman for Retell takes up the story, ‘There’s much misuse of terminology ‘like PCI DSS/FSA compliant’ recording etc. The FSA is an entirely separate body regulating financial institutions, not credit card transactions, and neither of these bodies endorses any call recorders as ‘compliant’.

The spokesman continued, ‘Retell have launched several new features for single and multi channel recording that will assist companies with compliance issues including three options to avoid recording the three digit security card number and also encrypted BlackBerry mobile recording’.

The PCI DSS is a multifaceted security standard that includes requirements for security management, policies, procedures, network architecture, software design and other critical protective measures. This comprehensive standard is intended to help organisations proactively protect customer account data.
