IT and IP Telephony reseller and support company RW Communications has made its IP Telephony solution based on Gamma Telecom services available to its key freighting and freight forwarding customers. The solution, which RW Communications added to its portfolio in 2006, has been successfully implemented within eight of the UK’s leading freighting companies, including one specialist freight software supplier and the General Sales Agent, ACP Worldwide. In addition to offering customers free inter-site calls, RW Communications will also be offering free rate tariffs for calls made between individual companies that use their service.
The IP Telephony service from RW Communications has a range of features that have been designed specifically for companies that have offices in multiple locations or with staff working from home. The system allows each of the users’ features and settings to be accessed via any company phone from any location, without needing to set up call diverts or change phone numbers. Users have access to voicemail functions, an auto-attendant and hunt groups, which helps companies project a professional image as well as ensuring customers’ calls are never lost.
Both of the Directors at RW Communications have extensive experience of working in the freighting industry and have been supplying IT support and hardware to the industry for almost a decade. David Cooper, Operations Director at RW Communications, commented, “We felt it was important to offer something uniquely aimed at our core customer base. This is a perfect solution for companies that don’t want the expense of maintaining their telephony equipment, sometimes needing to replace or upgrade it every 18 months. We understand how the freight industry works and the pressures that are put on companies that can often have one or two people in offices all over the world, as well as 100s of partners and suppliers that have to be in continuous contact to ensure goods are delivered and deadlines are met”
The success of RW Communications’ IP Telephony solution has led to the company doubling in size in 2007 with additional staff to support new customers and future growth. With new offices in Liverpool as well as its London Heathrow head office, RW Communications anticipates continued growth in 2008 as the freight industry realises the benefits of IP Telephony solutions.
