Last week, ScanSource hosted FuturePath 2015, with leading POS and Barcode manufacturers in attendance to help drive conversations between industry leaders and foster networking opportunities. ScanSource’s Vice President of Sales for ScanSource POS and Barcode in Europe, Richard Gregoire, and Vice President of Merchandising, Marcus Ollenbuttel, welcomed guests at The Belfry Hotel and Resort in Birmingham, opening a discussion on industry trends and the technology landscape.
The agenda featured a series of sessions led by ScanSource executives on the benefits of working with distribution. Richard Gregoire stated: “At ScanSource, we strongly believe that our role is to become trusted advisors to support customers in this fast-paced, ever-changing industry with sophisticated sales support and valuable services and tools that can assist resellers as they grow their business.”
Top sponsors and industry experts, Honeywell and Zebra, discussed their take on current trends in the industry. “The industry is changing and customers expect more than product specifications. We are working to provide end-to-end solutions for connecting workers and facilities, differentiating with wireless, voice, mobility and data analytics,” said Adrian Lawson, Honeywell’s Channel Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland.
Zebra’s Luca Gelosi, EMEA Director of Strategy and Business Development, added, “The transition that we are seeing is a challenge, but it also embeds a tremendous opportunity for growth. The market for traditional devices will remain strong, but we do expect significant changes in the investment habits. On top of that, we have identified terrific opportunities in expansion areas, like services, WLAN, RFID, locationing and our Internet of Things platform (Zatar). The ability to serve this demand, together with innovation in the broader portfolio, is key to assure long-term growth to the whole industry.”
