SMB’s Look to ease of use, reliability and low cost say 3Com

Mike Valiant, Voice Solutions Marketing at 3Com says smaller organisations are not generally too concerned about the technology but they are looking for three key things: ease of use, reliability and low cost.

“VoIP solutions are much cheaper than they used to be and a great replacement for the traditional analogue system. The market is moving towards convergence between voice and data and unified products that can do it all and there are benefits here for small organisations just are there are for larger enterprises.

For small businesses the trusted reseller is still the preferred place to go for advice on VoIP. Resellers can offer the full solution rather than just the VoIP. The channel is building the skills to offer advice to organisations on their network and transition to VoIP and increasingly diversifying their portfolio. The opportunities for resellers can now also include reselling voice services as well as integrating and managing hardware and applications for the SME. Small businesses want to concentrate on their business and so competent network and telephony resellers have the opportunity to offer their skills so that the SME does not have to invest in theses skills themselves.”

The NBX V3000 platform is designed to meet the need of smaller businesses by offering exceptional ease of use while at the same time it can offer the capabilities of many larger solutions, and includes such advanced features such as unified messaging, ACD and the support of SIP phones and applications. 3Com can also provide the infrastructure to power the whole network with LAN switch products that include Power Over Ethernet, and a market leading network based security system providing intrusion prevention.
