Westcoast gets rugged with Bullit Group

Westcoast is to become distributor for the Bullitt Group, a manufacturer of rugged smartphones, in the UK.

The move sees the addition of Cat (Caterpillar) Phones to Westcoast’s Android enterprise portfolio, making it easier than ever for UK resellers to expand their mobile market reach across multiple verticals: construction, agriculture, HVAC, and emergency response.

Darren Seward, Head of Mobile Solutions at Westcoast, comments: “More mobile vendors are now choosing to work with Westcoast and we’re always looking for new opportunities for growth by working with the best and most progressive vendors. Our exciting new partnership with Bullitt and the addition of the Cat Phone range expands our Android enterprise portfolio to serve an area of the mobile market that is often neglected, yet is growing significantly.”

Nathan Vautier, Chief Sales Officer EMEA, Bullitt Group, adds: “Throughout 2018 Bullitt Group has undergone a review of its entire global distribution structure, making changes to reduce the number of approved suppliers, to streamline the process and ensure effective commercial relationships.

In the UK, we continue to focus on a B2B strategy, reaching the core audiences we know benefit from a rugged device that is fit for the challenges of their daily lives. We are therefore delighted to announce our partnership with Westcoast as our master UK distributor, who we feel is the right partner to help us address the growing rugged market.”

Market research* shows that the majority (31%) of Cat Phone customers work in construction. The devices are also popular in agriculture, security and emergency, manufacturing, vehicle repair and facilities management. They’re particularly favoured by males in the 30-49 age bracket, with just over half (52%) working in businesses with fewer than 50 employees.

4 out of 5 of the most essential features for Cat Phone users are rugged: 77% say dust proofing is essential, 76% consider water proofing essential, 74% need a scratch resistant display, and 73% must have a drop-proof phone. Long battery life comes top, with 99% of users citing it as a key valued feature.

Alex Tatham, Managing Director, Westcoast further comments: “This new relationship with Bullitt supports our commitment to work with innovative companies and cements our position as the partner of choice for mobile solutions. We look forward to collaboratively helping UK resellers drive revenue and growth in this burgeoning market with highly targeted products.”
