Whisper Aastra

“Aastra is a name worth whispering,” says Aastra Marketing Manager Bev Martin. Six months in to her job Martin is going through a re-branding exercise following the acquisitions of DeTeWe, EADS and not to mention the name change from Ascom to Aastra itself.

As a result of the acquisitions Aastra is now placed third in the European PBX stakes though in the UK neither DeTeWe nor EADS added much in the way of market presence to an already smallish Ascotel.

“I saw 12 resellers in the first few weeks in the job and found that Aastra were regarded as an easy company with which to do business. We are now on a targeted and geographical reseller recruitment drive and have reviewed the accreditation of our Gold Plus resellers so that we can provide them with new benefits. These include more regular marketing meetings, workshops and co-marketing funds.

We have also launched a new sales incentive scheme for our channel partners that targets bigger system sales. “

With version 7.0 of Aastra IntelliGate due for release in September Martin says there are many reasons why reseller should chose to work with them, “Free sales leads, under-represented in the UK, SIP and IP trunk enabled and a free CTI applications suite included with each system.”
