VAD Wick Hill is to become a UK distributor for cyber security solutions vendor Becrypt. Becrypt provides enterprise security and endpoint security solutions for desktops, laptops, tablets, USB sticks, mobile devices and removable media devices.
The way people are working is changing and will continue to change as long as mobility and wireless technology evolves. Upon the rest of the channel and what they can offer Ian Kilpatrick said “There are members of the channel that are offering mobility solutions but they are often suitable solutions for the environment we were in 3-5 years ago. Things have moved on in quite a big way and this will be a key partnership for keeping abreast those changes.”
With the new standards in wireless on the way and 4G now being rolled out in the UK, have Wick Hill landed straight in the sweet spot? They seem to think so. Kilpatrick stated “We have been getting our team up to speed over the last six months so we are now ready to get out there. I think Becrypt will add quite a lot of value to our overall portfolio but in particular those areas that surround Thin Client services.
When it comes to security Kilpatrick acknowledged there is a lot of education still to be done. “Businesses don’t always realise they are as weak as their most vulnerable member of staff. It just takes one weak spot and your data/ network just isn’t safe.”

“Resellers need to get there head around the fact that these type of solutions aren’t difficult to deploy, We will be running several educational days of the coming year to help resellers get up to speed like our ‘For Techies by Techies’ series. We also have other educational and certification programmes to help with this.”
