Content+Cloud appoints Colin Brown as non-executive director

Content+Cloud has announced the appointment of former Softcat MD Colin Brown, who joins the company as non-executive director.

Described by the company as a ‘veteran in IT services’, Brown brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience and expertise to the role and will advise on Content+Cloud’s growth roadmap.

During his eight years at Softcat, he oversaw rapid growth and was part of the leadership team that brought the organisation to its IPO, resulting in Softcat’s listing on the FTSE 250. Before this, he drove the adoption and deployment of Microsoft technology as general manager of UK services for Microsoft, which followed his position as CEO at Computacenter Germany.

After stepping down as Softcat’s managing director in 2020, Brown assisted with the transition to a new leadership team. Following his departure, he now acts as a non-executive director for a number of technology and services organisations.

Peter Sweetbaum, CEO, Content+Cloud, said: “We are delighted to have Colin on board where we look forward to him bringing his exemplary experience at the core of the UK IT Services market in the UK and Europe.

“Colin’s experience of leadership positions, at arguably the most successful technology businesses today, will be a fantastic addition to Content+Cloud’s ambitious growth plans.”

On his appointment, Colin said: “I’m delighted to have joined Content+Cloud as a non-exec director. I have been so impressed with the fantastic growth that Peter and his leadership team have achieved over the last few years, and what’s even more exciting is the best is yet to come.

“Content+Cloud is ideally placed to assist organisations, seeking to harness and benefit from technology, through a combination of their best-in-class customer service and a very smart investment record. I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
